when NOT in loop mode, i expect it still probably locks it, but since it's not in loop mode, it wouldn't get overwritten anyway, so it's moot. G-sensor has nothing to do with image orientation - it's basically only there for when it's used as a dashcam - if it registers a spike of g-force, it locks the current video file to prevent it from being overwritten when in loop mode. if it used the G-sensor to orient the video, it could change orientation at random moments during the recording depending on how the camera is bouncing around, which would be a bad thing. then since the screen is upside down, the upside down image from the sensor appears to be right side up.Īnother issue to think about - this is an action camera.
